Solar Panels Sherwood: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Sherwood system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Sherwood makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Sherwood is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. We look after Sherwood and the surrounding suburbs of Fig Tree Pocket, Graceville and Corinda, so a free on-site measure in 4075 is easy to book.
- Many Sherwood homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

About Sherwood
West Oxley State School opened in 1867 and took the Sherwood name in 1878. Estate blocks were auctioned in 1885 and 1888, more sites near the station followed in 1928, and the Shire of Sherwood existed from 1903 until it joined Brisbane in 1925. Floods have left their mark more than once, most notably in 1931, 2011 and 2022.
Its western side meets the Brisbane River, where the Sherwood Arboretum has been a riverside garden since the 1920s. Oxley Creek touches the eastern end. Low and medium density homes line the streets, with a retail strip on Sherwood Road and trains on the Ipswich and Springfield lines. Hives Park and several smaller parks, plenty of heritage sites and a well attended state school are close by.

Solar panels in Sherwood: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Sherwood?
Most Sherwood homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Sherwood?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Sherwood?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Sherwood 4075 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Sherwood is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Fig Tree Pocket, Graceville, Corinda, Chelmer. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
