Solar panels for Burleigh Waters, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Burleigh Waters homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Burleigh Waters makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Burleigh Waters is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Getting to know Burleigh Waters
Much of this area was once Stephens Swamp, which landholder Thomas Blacket Stephens began draining in 1861. Staged development began in the 1970s, with Hooker Corporation and BMD Group building the Burleigh Waters canal estate late in the decade. Private homes were going up by 1977, and the suburb was officially named and bounded on 1 June 1981, taking its name from Burleigh Head.
Five man-made lakes, including Lake Heron, Swan Lake and Burleigh Lake, plus a tidal canal network linking to The Broadwater, give the suburb its watery character. Marymount College, Caningeraba State School and a council library serve locals, and two large shopping centres sit in the south. Canal-front homes can flood in years of heavy rain. About 14,600 people lived here in 2021.

Solar panels in Burleigh Waters: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Burleigh Waters?
Most Burleigh Waters homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Burleigh Waters?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Burleigh Waters?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
