Solar panels in Burleigh Heads, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Burleigh Heads homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Burleigh Heads quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Burleigh Heads makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Burleigh Heads is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage. Our solar panels work in Burleigh Heads also covers neighbouring Burleigh Waters, West Burleigh and Varsity Lakes, all within about 2km.
- Being close to the water, Burleigh Heads gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Burleigh Heads: a local snapshot
Surveyor James Warner named the headland in 1840, reportedly because of its bulky look. Town lots were surveyed in 1871 and sold the following year, yet by 1885 there was still just one accommodation house. Bathing resorts and guesthouses grew around the turn of the century, the Norfolk pines along The Esplanade went in in 1934, and the Koala Park area was built in the 1960s.
The 80-metre headland stands at the northern mouth of Tallebudgera Creek, covered by Burleigh Head National Park. James Street is the main shopping and cafe strip, with high-rise towers behind the beach and homes spreading inland along the creek. David Fleay Wildlife Park, Bill Godfrey Oval and the Old Burleigh Theatre Arcade are local fixtures, and about 10,600 people lived here in 2021.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Burleigh Heads?
Most Burleigh Heads homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Burleigh Heads?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Burleigh Heads?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Burleigh Heads 4220 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Burleigh Heads is part of our Southern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Burleigh Waters, West Burleigh, Varsity Lakes, Miami. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
