Solar panels in Chermside, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Chermside homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Chermside quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Chermside makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Chermside is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our solar panels work in Chermside also covers neighbouring Kedron, Chermside West and Wavell Heights, all within about 2km.

Chermside: a local snapshot
Travellers heading for the Gympie goldfields from 1867 were often stopped by a flooded creek, so the area became Downfall Creek. Cobb & Co coaches rolled through from 1868. In 1904 it was renamed after Governor Sir Herbert Chermside. Trams arrived in 1947, and in 1957 the Chermside Drive-in Shopping Centre opened, the forerunner of today's Westfield. The Prince Charles Hospital followed in 1959.
Westfield Chermside dominates, with more than 480 stores, a 16-screen cinema and a bus station alongside, about 9.8 kilometres by road from the city. Downfall Creek runs through 7th Brigade Park and its sports fields. There is also an aquatic centre and water park, a council library on Hamilton Road, the Kedron Wavell Services Club and the Wheller Gardens retirement village.

Solar panels in Chermside: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Chermside?
Most Chermside homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Chermside?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Chermside?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Chermside 4032 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Chermside is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Kedron, Chermside West, Wavell Heights, Stafford Heights. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
