Solar Panels Wavell Heights: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Wavell Heights system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Wavell Heights makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Wavell Heights is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. We look after Wavell Heights and the surrounding suburbs of Nundah, Kedron and Kalinga, so a free on-site measure in 4012 is easy to book.

About Wavell Heights

Before 1941 people knew this area as West Nundah. That year it was renamed after Field Marshal Lord Wavell, the Allied commander in the Middle East during World War II. Churches were already appearing from 1937, but the real boom was post-war. The state school opened in 1948, Our Lady of the Angels' in 1950 and Wavell State High in 1959, as families filled the northern suburbs.

Roughly 10.5 kilometres north of the city, the suburb is almost entirely houses. Mercer Park and Shaw Park sit at its southern tip. Three schools cover primary through to high school, which keeps it popular with families. Several heritage-listed places remain, alongside churches from four denominations that went up between 1937 and 1957.

How much does solar cost in Wavell Heights?

Most Wavell Heights homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Wavell Heights?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Wavell Heights?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Wavell Heights 4012 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Wavell Heights is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Nundah, Kedron, Kalinga, Chermside. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
