Solar Panels Kedron: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Kedron system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Kedron makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Kedron is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. We look after Kedron and the surrounding suburbs of Chermside, Wavell Heights and Gordon Park, so a free on-site measure in 4031 is easy to book.

About Kedron
German missionaries arriving in 1838 named the local creek after the Kidron Valley near Jerusalem, and the suburb took its name from Kedron Brook. Land sales began in 1857. In 1868 a bridge over the brook opened the route north that became Gympie Road, used by gold seekers. Trams arrived in 1914, the state school opened in 1926 and Kedron State High in 1956.
Gympie Road and Kedron Brook are the spine of this inner-northern suburb, about 11 kilometres from the city. It is a strong school area, with Padua College, Mount Alvernia, St Anthony's and two state schools. The Edinburgh Castle and Kedron Park hotels are local institutions, and the SES occupies the old teachers college site. Westfield Chermside is just over the border.

Solar panels in Kedron: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Kedron?
Most Kedron homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Kedron?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Kedron?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Kedron 4031 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Kedron is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Chermside, Wavell Heights, Gordon Park, Kalinga. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
