A typical 6.6kW system in Coochiemudlo Island makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Coochiemudlo Island is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Getting to know Coochiemudlo Island
Matthew Flinders came ashore here on 19 July 1799. Between 1825 and 1850 Europeans called it Innis Island, but the name that stuck is an English version of Yuggera words for "red" and "stone", which fits the iron-rich cliff on the southwest side. The population has edged up each census, from 658 in 2006 to 850 in 2021.
There is no bridge, just a 2 km ferry ride from Victoria Point. Sandy beaches run along the southern, eastern and northern shores, with mangroves on the western side and a walking track through the Melaleuca Wetland Reserve. The community hall, Pineridge Chapel, fire and ambulance stations, a jetty and a boat ramp serve the island, and East Coochie Reef lies offshore.

Solar panels in Coochiemudlo Island: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Coochiemudlo Island?
Most Coochiemudlo Island homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Coochiemudlo Island?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Coochiemudlo Island?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Coochiemudlo Island 4184 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Coochiemudlo Island is part of our Redlands service area in the Redland City Council area, and we regularly work in Victoria Point, Macleay Island, Thornlands, Cleveland. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
