Solar Panels Alexandra Hills: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Alexandra Hills system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Alexandra Hills makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Alexandra Hills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon. We look after Alexandra Hills and the surrounding suburbs of Capalaba, Ormiston and Birkdale, so a free on-site measure in 4161 is easy to book.

About Alexandra Hills
Schools tell the story of how fast this area filled up. Alexandra Hills State School opened in 1975, St Anthony's Catholic Primary in 1980, Vienna Woods in 1985, the state high school in 1987 and Hilliard State School in 1991. The Anglican Church of the Resurrection was dedicated in 1991, and the Sycamore School for students with autism arrived in 2017.
Wedged between Cleveland and Capalaba, it is the only Redland suburb with no coastline. Hilliards Creek runs near the western edge, with a platypus corridor along it, and the 152 ha Scribbly Gums Conservation Area sits on the eastern side next to Redland Hospital, hosting a weekly parkrun since 2022. Locals also have a TAFE campus and "The Alex" hotel.

Solar panels in Alexandra Hills: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Alexandra Hills?
Most Alexandra Hills homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Alexandra Hills?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Alexandra Hills?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Alexandra Hills 4161 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Alexandra Hills is part of our Redlands service area in the Redland City Council area, and we regularly work in Capalaba, Ormiston, Birkdale, Wellington Point. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
