Solar Panels Seventeen Mile Rocks: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Seventeen Mile Rocks system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Seventeen Mile Rocks makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Seventeen Mile Rocks is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. We look after Seventeen Mile Rocks and the surrounding suburbs of Sinnamon Park, Oxley and Darra, so a free on-site measure in 4073 is easy to book.

About Seventeen Mile Rocks
On 3 December 1823 John Oxley noted rocks in the river 17 miles from its mouth, and the name stuck. A Bible Christian chapel opened in 1869 and a school around 1874. Workers removed the last of the rocks between 1960 and 1966 to widen the channel. The Western Drive-In ran from 1966 to 1988 before housing took its place.
Once mainly industrial, the suburb now has estates like Edenbrooke and Verandah, some with their own lakes and walking tracks, while industry remains in the north-west and south-west. Roughly 2,700 people live here. The Brisbane River lines the north-east, and Rocks Riverside Park, one of the city's biggest riverside parks, has a flying fox, playing fields and bike paths.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Seventeen Mile Rocks?
Most Seventeen Mile Rocks homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Seventeen Mile Rocks?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Seventeen Mile Rocks?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Seventeen Mile Rocks 4073 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Seventeen Mile Rocks is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Sinnamon Park, Oxley, Darra, Fig Tree Pocket. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
