Why Fitzgibbon homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Fitzgibbon quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Fitzgibbon makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Fitzgibbon is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Our solar panels work in Fitzgibbon also covers neighbouring Taigum, Zillmere and Carseldine, all within about 2km.

Fitzgibbon: a local snapshot

Abram Fitzgibbon, Queensland's chief railway engineer in the 1860s, is the man behind the name. For years the area was best known for the council tip on Telegraph Road, which ran from 1981 to 1995 before shifting to Roghan Road. Housing subdivisions spread across the land through the 1980s and 1990s. More recently, Holy Spirit College opened in 2022 for Years 7 to 12.

Triangular in shape and one of Brisbane's smaller suburbs, Fitzgibbon is boxed in by the North Coast railway, Cabbage Tree Creek and Telegraph Road. Roghan Road has a small strip with a bakery, clinic and multicultural food, opposite the community centre. Seven parks include Bill Brown Sports Reserve. The Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre opened on the Bracken Ridge border in 2016.

How much does solar cost in Fitzgibbon?

Most Fitzgibbon homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Fitzgibbon?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Fitzgibbon?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Fitzgibbon 4018 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Fitzgibbon is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Taigum, Zillmere, Carseldine, Aspley. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
