Going solar in Fitzgibbon

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe.

Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.

Fitzgibbon is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Fitzgibbon: history and local area

Abram Fitzgibbon, Queensland's chief railway engineer in the 1860s, is the man behind the name. For years the area was best known for the council tip on Telegraph Road, which ran from 1981 to 1995 before shifting to Roghan Road. Housing subdivisions spread across the land through the 1980s and 1990s. More recently, Holy Spirit College opened in 2022 for Years 7 to 12.

Triangular in shape and one of Brisbane's smaller suburbs, Fitzgibbon is boxed in by the North Coast railway, Cabbage Tree Creek and Telegraph Road. Roghan Road has a small strip with a bakery, clinic and multicultural food, opposite the community centre. Seven parks include Bill Brown Sports Reserve. The Emily Seebohm Aquatic Centre opened on the Bracken Ridge border in 2016.

Homes from the 1980s and 1990s subdivisions are now old enough that many early, small solar systems are due for an upgrade to a larger array with a battery.
