Why Bracken Ridge homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Bracken Ridge quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Bracken Ridge makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Bracken Ridge is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. Bracken Ridge: a local snapshot

Early settlers found bracken fern growing everywhere, so they named their property after it, and the name carried into an estate and then the suburb. Land first sold in August 1857, and John McPherson and James Ferguson became the first to actually settle in 1862. The suburb as we know it was established in the 1960s, with estates like The Oaks, Enbrook Heights and Sungate following.

Hilly streets rise to a park and reservoir at the top, where you can see Moreton Bay to the east and the city skyline to the south. With close to 17,500 residents it is a big suburb. Shopping is spread across Gawain Road, Barrett Street and a larger centre at Telegraph and Norris roads. Schools run from primary to TAFE, and the aquatic centre opened in 2016.

How much does solar cost in Bracken Ridge?

Most Bracken Ridge homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Bracken Ridge?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Bracken Ridge?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Bracken Ridge 4017 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Bracken Ridge is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Bald Hills, Carseldine, Fitzgibbon, Deagon. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
