Solar Panels Deagon: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Deagon system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Deagon makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Deagon is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. We look after Deagon and the surrounding suburbs of Sandgate, Shorncliffe and Taigum, so a free on-site measure in 4017 is easy to book.

About Deagon
William Deagon, Sandgate mayor from 1882 to 1884 and owner of the Sandgate Hotel, gave his name to the station when the railway came through in 1887, and the suburb took the name from there. A Baptist mission church opened in 1918 and the post office in 1947. Sandgate District State High School opened here in 1959, and the Ching Chung Taoist Temple was built in 1991.
Flat ground sits beside Cabbage Tree Creek, with the Boondall Wetlands just across the water and the 50-hectare Deagon Wetland of tea tree woodland. The Gateway Arterial runs along the western side. Deagon Racecourse is now a training facility, as racing stopped in 1941. Deagon station is on the Shorncliffe line, and the high school on Braun Street had over 1,000 students in 2017.

Solar panels in Deagon: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Deagon?
Most Deagon homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Deagon?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Deagon?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Deagon 4017 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Deagon is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Sandgate, Shorncliffe, Taigum, Boondall. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
