Solar Panels Boondall: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Boondall system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Boondall makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Boondall is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. We look after Boondall and the surrounding suburbs of Taigum, Zillmere and Geebung, so a free on-site measure in 4034 is easy to book.

About Boondall

Once called Cabbage Tree Creek, Boondall takes its name from an Aboriginal word that may mean crooked creek or refer to the cunjevoi plant. St Joseph's Nudgee College started here in January 1891, a Church of Christ chapel was built in 1916, and the state school opened in April 1925. The Brisbane Entertainment Centre opened in February 1986, putting the suburb on the concert map.

Cabbage Tree Creek forms the northern boundary, while the east is taken up by the Boondall Wetlands, more than 1,000 hectares of protected land with over 190 bird species. Around 20 parks are spread through the streets. The Entertainment Centre sits near Boondall station, Ice World is nearby, and the Gayatri Mandir temple occupies a former Anglican church.

How much does solar cost in Boondall?

Most Boondall homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Boondall?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Boondall?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Boondall 4034 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Boondall is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Taigum, Zillmere, Geebung, Virginia. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
