Solar Panels Highgate Hill: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Highgate Hill system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Highgate Hill makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Highgate Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. We look after Highgate Hill and the surrounding suburbs of Woolloongabba, West End and Dutton Park, so a free on-site measure in 4101 is easy to book.
- Many Highgate Hill homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

About Highgate Hill
George Wilson built a homestead on Bellevue Street in the 1860s and may have borrowed the name from Highgate Hill in London, which first shows up in an 1864 land sale notice. A reservoir finished in 1889 fixed local water shortages, and the electric tram climbed Gladstone Road from 1902. By 1929 it counted among Brisbane's dress circle addresses, and Torbreck, the city's first apartment tower, rose here in the early 1960s.
Rolling hills top out at 64 m at Highgate Hill Park, which looks straight over the city. The suburb sits on a river peninsula, with gullies of remnant bush running down to the water. Density is high, and Dornoch Terrace is lined with apartment buildings, some over ten storeys. Lyons Playground Park has a community garden, and buses connect to South Bank and Dutton Park stations.

Solar panels in Highgate Hill: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Highgate Hill?
Most Highgate Hill homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Highgate Hill?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Highgate Hill?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Highgate Hill 4101 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Highgate Hill is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Woolloongabba, West End, Dutton Park, South Brisbane. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
