Solar panels for Kippa-Ring, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Kippa-Ring homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Kippa-Ring makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Kippa-Ring is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Getting to know Kippa-Ring

The unusual name joins kippa, a Kabi word for a young uninitiated man, with ring, a nod to a bora ring. Farms and small businesses filled the area until the 1950s and 1960s. Houses then spread across it through the 1960s and 1970s, the state school opened in 1960, and the suburb was formally created in 1971. Swampy land to the north, once called Kippering Flats, became part of the Newport canals.

In the middle of the Redcliffe Peninsula, Kippa-Ring is the end of the line for trains on the Redcliffe Peninsula line. Peninsula Fair and Kippa-Ring Shopping Centre sit side by side as the area's largest retail hub. Talobilla Park hosts baseball, softball, rugby league and paddling clubs, and Peninsula Power play at AJ Kelly Field. A private hospital and a small industrial area round out the mix.

How much does solar cost in Kippa-Ring?

Most Kippa-Ring homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Kippa-Ring?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Kippa-Ring?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Kippa-Ring 4021 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Kippa-Ring is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Newport, Redcliffe, Clontarf, Margate. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
