Solar panels in Margate, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Margate homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Margate quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Margate makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Margate is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
North Brisbane and Moreton Bay run from Albany Creek and Strathpine through North Lakes and Narangba to Caboolture and Bribie Island, taking in the Redcliffe Peninsula and acreage around Samford and Dayboro. Our solar panels work in Margate also covers neighbouring Woody Point, Redcliffe and Clontarf, all within about 2km.
- Being close to the water, Margate gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Margate: a local snapshot
Humpybong Provisional School opened in February 1876, making it one of the earliest institutions on the peninsula. Land estates were auctioned in several waves from about 1880 through to 1933, and the Baptist mission church followed in 1936. More recently the suburb has been renewed: the beach boardwalk was finished in 2002, a CBD makeover worth about $6 million wrapped up in 2007, and older Oxley Avenue buildings were replaced from 2019.
Margate faces east across Moreton Bay, and its 2 km sandy beach has views out to Moreton Island. The boardwalk includes shelters, seats and barbecues. Margate Village provides the local shops and businesses. Humpybong State School had about 750 students in 2017. Newer contemporary buildings and a four storey apartment block now sit alongside older homes, with taller buildings allowed along Duffield Road.

Solar panels in Margate: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Margate?
Most Margate homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Margate?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Margate?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Margate 4019 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Margate is part of our North Brisbane & Moreton Bay service area in the City of Moreton Bay area, and we regularly work in Woody Point, Redcliffe, Clontarf, Kippa-Ring. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
