Solar panels in Molendinar, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Molendinar homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Molendinar quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Molendinar makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Molendinar is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara. Our solar panels work in Molendinar also covers neighbouring Parkwood, Ashmore and Gaven, all within about 3km.

Molendinar: a local snapshot
A Scottish stream gave this place its name. George Hope called his farm after the Molendinar Burn in Glasgow, the railway station that opened here in 1889 took the farm name, and the suburb later took the station's. The Aboriginal name for the area is Jerringan, meaning stringybark tree. The line closed in 1964, and from 1969 the state government built the Molendinar Industrial Estate with council support.
Molendinar is a working suburb with industry and housing side by side, boxed in by the Smith Street Motorway, Olsen Avenue, Southport Nerang Road and the Pacific Motorway. A 110 metre heritage-listed tunnel on Ashmore Road is a reminder of the old South Coast line. Trinity Lutheran College has its Prep to Year 5 campus here, and the Lynne Richardson Community Centre is on Gidgee Court.

Solar panels in Molendinar: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Molendinar?
Most Molendinar homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Molendinar?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Molendinar?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Molendinar 4214 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Molendinar is part of our Central Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Parkwood, Ashmore, Gaven, Arundel. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
