Solar Panels Waterford: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Waterford system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Waterford makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Waterford is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben. We look after Waterford and the surrounding suburbs of Holmview, Edens Landing and Bethania, so a free on-site measure in 4133 is easy to book.

  • Low-lying pockets of Waterford sit inside council flood mapping. Where it matters we mount inverters and batteries above the flood planning level and keep isolators easy to reach.

About Waterford

Irish settlers are thought to have named this spot after Waterford in Ireland because of a ford across the Logan River. Surveyor William Fryar recorded the name in June 1866, and town lots went on sale the following month. Classes began in a barn in 1869. The Beaudesert railway reached here in 1885, losing passengers in 1961 and freight in 1996, and Canterbury College opened in 1987.

Waterford sits on the east bank of the Logan, about 7 kilometres south-east of Logan Central, with Waterford-Tamborine Road running through. There is a boat ramp at Albert Street and several small parks, among them High Road Park and Woodlands Boulevard Park. Schooling is a big part of local life, with Waterford State School and Canterbury College together teaching nearly 2,000 students. Bethania station is the nearest stop.

How much does solar cost in Waterford?

Most Waterford homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Waterford?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Waterford?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Waterford 4133 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Waterford is part of our Logan service area in the Logan City Council area, and we regularly work in Holmview, Edens Landing, Bethania, Waterford West. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
