Going solar in Chambers Flat
Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.
Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.
Chambers Flat is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Chambers Flat properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Chambers Flat: history and local area
Pastoral runs covered this country from the early 1840s, and John Chambers took up land in 1848, which is presumably where the name comes from. A provisional school opened in 1890 and became a state school in 1909 before closing in 1921. The area belonged to the Shire of Beaudesert until it moved to Logan City in March 2008. King's Christian College opened its Logan Village campus here in 2020.
Chambers Flat is a rural locality, with the Logan River wrapping around its eastern and southern sides and cattle grazing on the river flats. About 2,700 people live across 22 square kilometres. Parks include Wendt Park, Kings Way Park and Chambers Creek Park. The council looks after the Chambers Flat Cemetery, and King's Christian College had 418 primary students in 2023.
Rural properties near the river flats can site arrays on high ground and keep batteries clear of flood-prone areas, and grazing properties with bores or pumps benefit from daytime solar.
