Going solar in Munruben
Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben.
Logan mixes established family suburbs, fast-growing estates like Yarrabilba and Park Ridge, and acreage around Jimboomba and Greenbank. Big households and big air conditioning loads make solar and batteries pay back quickly here.
Munruben is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Plenty of Munruben properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

Munruben: history and local area
William Norris ran a 16,000 acre sheep station here from 1840 to 1860, calling it Mun Rubens, thought to come from a Bundjalung name for a lagoon. Tragedy struck in July 1882 when his daughter Emma Evans and three children drowned crossing the Logan River in a dinghy. The name Munruben became official in 1991 under the Shire of Beaudesert, and the area moved to Logan City in 2008.
Once rural, Munruben is now low-density residential, with the Mount Lindesay Highway running through. The Logan River lies to the south near Giesemann Park, where a memorial to the Norris family stands. The low ground at Jerry's Downfall is known for bogging and flooding, and a plaque marks the spot. Norris Creek Park and Jerrys Downfall Reserve add green space. Schools are in nearby Park Ridge.
Low-density blocks give plenty of unshaded roof, but properties near flood-prone ground such as Jerry's Downfall should keep inverters and batteries well above any likely water level.
