Going solar in Chapel Hill
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Chapel Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Chapel Hill: history and local area
Primitive Methodists broke ground for a hilltop chapel in November 1873 and opened it in March 1875, and the suburb has been named after it ever since. An industrial school for boys opened in 1922, later known as the Alkira boys' home until it closed in 1983. The local state school is comparatively young, opening its doors in January 1978.
Backing onto the Mt Coot-tha reserve and its walking tracks, Chapel Hill is mainly detached houses, with around 10,500 residents across 5 square kilometres. It sits 11.5 km south-west of the CBD. Small shopping strips on Moggill Road and Fleming Road handle daily needs, and about two dozen parks include Cubberla Creek Reserve, home to Akuna Oval. Green Hill Reservoir is another local spot.
Bordering a bushland reserve, many detached homes have big trees on their boundary, so panel layout should dodge shade. Bigger family houses with ducted air conditioning can get good value from adding a battery.
