Going solar in Kenmore
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Kenmore is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Kenmore: history and local area
Sheep and cattle grazed here in the 1840s, and small farm lots were released the following decade, supplying timber to Brisbane. Andrew Todd bought 100 acres around 1880, and a provisional school opened in 1900. Dairying took over in the early 1900s, with Chinese market gardeners arriving in 1910. Hooker's bought dairy land near Dumbarton Drive in the early 1950s, kicking off suburban growth.
With the Brisbane River on its southern edge and Moggill and Cubberla creeks on either side, Kenmore sits 13.6 km south-west of the CBD. Close to 9,700 people lived here in 2021. Kenmore Village and Kenmore Plaza cover shopping, the library opened in 2010, and there are four schools including Kenmore State High. Akuna Oval hosts local sport, and tiny Mosquito Island sits undeveloped in the river.
Homes spread across a suburb framed by two creeks and the river often have mature trees nearby, so a site visit to map shading is worthwhile. Creek frontage is also a reason to mount batteries off the ground.
