Solar Panels Chapel Hill: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Chapel Hill system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Chapel Hill makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Chapel Hill is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. We look after Chapel Hill and the surrounding suburbs of Kenmore Hills, Kenmore and Indooroopilly, so a free on-site measure in 4069 is easy to book.

About Chapel Hill

Primitive Methodists broke ground for a hilltop chapel in November 1873 and opened it in March 1875, and the suburb has been named after it ever since. An industrial school for boys opened in 1922, later known as the Alkira boys' home until it closed in 1983. The local state school is comparatively young, opening its doors in January 1978.

Backing onto the Mt Coot-tha reserve and its walking tracks, Chapel Hill is mainly detached houses, with around 10,500 residents across 5 square kilometres. It sits 11.5 km south-west of the CBD. Small shopping strips on Moggill Road and Fleming Road handle daily needs, and about two dozen parks include Cubberla Creek Reserve, home to Akuna Oval. Green Hill Reservoir is another local spot.

How much does solar cost in Chapel Hill?

Most Chapel Hill homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Chapel Hill?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Chapel Hill?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Chapel Hill 4069 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Chapel Hill is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Kenmore Hills, Kenmore, Indooroopilly, Chelmer. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
