Going solar in Indooroopilly
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Indooroopilly is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Indooroopilly: history and local area
Rail reached the area in 1875, and once the Albert Bridge opened a year later, houses spread out around the station. The 1893 flood swept that bridge away, and a replacement was in service by 1895. A silver mine ran from 1919 to 1929, and the toll bridge now called the Walter Taylor Bridge opened in 1936. The name probably comes from an Aboriginal phrase, though its meaning is debated.
The Brisbane River wraps the southern side, with four bridges crossing to Chelmer. Roughly 13,600 people live on 7.8 square kilometres, about 7.8 km south-west of the city. Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is the biggest in the western suburbs, and the 36 hole golf club and Thomas Park's bougainvillea gardens are local favourites. Restored Queenslanders mix with post-war homes, apartments and townhouses.
Restored Queenslanders here often have tin roofs that suit panel mounting, though character rules may influence what is visible from the street. Apartment and townhouse owners need strata approval first.
