Why Indooroopilly homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Indooroopilly quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Indooroopilly makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Indooroopilly is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. Our solar panels work in Indooroopilly also covers neighbouring Taringa, Chelmer and Toowong, all within about 2km.

Indooroopilly: a local snapshot

Rail reached the area in 1875, and once the Albert Bridge opened a year later, houses spread out around the station. The 1893 flood swept that bridge away, and a replacement was in service by 1895. A silver mine ran from 1919 to 1929, and the toll bridge now called the Walter Taylor Bridge opened in 1936. The name probably comes from an Aboriginal phrase, though its meaning is debated.

The Brisbane River wraps the southern side, with four bridges crossing to Chelmer. Roughly 13,600 people live on 7.8 square kilometres, about 7.8 km south-west of the city. Indooroopilly Shopping Centre is the biggest in the western suburbs, and the 36 hole golf club and Thomas Park's bougainvillea gardens are local favourites. Restored Queenslanders mix with post-war homes, apartments and townhouses.

How much does solar cost in Indooroopilly?

Most Indooroopilly homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Indooroopilly?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Indooroopilly?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Indooroopilly 4068 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Indooroopilly is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Taringa, Chelmer, Toowong, Graceville. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
