Newport is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Newport gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Newport: history and local area
Newport began as the Newport Waterways housing estate in the late 1970s, and water first flowed into its canals in 1979. For decades the area was split between Scarborough and Kippa-Ring. An attempt in the 1990s to make it a suburb failed, but Redcliffe City Council tried again in 2006 and Newport was gazetted in August 2008. New canal stages are still being dug to the west.
Canals define Newport, with homes backing onto the water and boats moored at the end of the garden. Spinnaker Park was voted Australia's favourite playground in 2021, and Mariner Plaza handles everyday shopping. More than ten smaller parks are scattered between the streets. There are no schools inside the suburb, so students head to Scarborough, Kippa-Ring or Redcliffe.
Waterfront canal homes are often large and newer, with pools and air conditioning, so a bigger array and a battery tend to suit them. Coastal grade fixings help with the salt moisture.
