Rothwell is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

  • Newer homes in Rothwell usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

Rothwell: history and local area

The suburb is named after Thomas James Rothwell, president of the Royal Automobile Club of Queensland, who in 1921 proposed the tree lined memorial drive that became Anzac Avenue. A monument to him went up in 1933. An 1880s estate called the Isle of Man was offered but never sold. Rothwell was officially named in July 1970, and Grace Lutheran College moved here in 1980, followed by Mueller College in 1990.

On the western side of the Redcliffe Peninsula, Rothwell runs from Deception Bay in the north to Saltwater Creek in the south. The Nathan Road Wetlands Reserve fills the north, and the council owned Redcliffe Aerodrome sits in the north east. Shoppers use The Zone, Woolworths and Bunnings on Anzac Avenue, and the train station links to a 12.6 km cyclepath. Low ground near Saltwater Creek is prone to flooding.

Rothwell is one of the few flood prone spots on the peninsula, so homes near Saltwater Creek should mount inverters and batteries well above ground level and plan cabling with that in mind.
