Wagtail Grove: history and local area
Wagtail Grove came into being in 2023, one of five localities the Queensland Government formed to prepare for growth west of Caboolture. Its land was taken from parts of Bellmere, Rocksberg and Upper Caboolture. The name combines the willie wagtail, a bird found around Caboolture, with grove, meaning a stand of trees.
For now this is still described as a rural locality, covering about 3.1 square kilometres. No schools sit within its boundaries. Younger children go to Bellmere or Minimbah state schools, while older students travel to Caboolture or Morayfield. The Brisbane CBD is around 55 km to the south.
Rural land that is set to be developed gives future home builders a clean slate, so orienting roofs north and leaving room for a battery from day one makes a real difference to long term bills.
