Why Algester homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Algester quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Algester makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Algester is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. Our solar panels work in Algester also covers neighbouring Pallara, Sunnybank Hills and Calamvale, all within about 2km.

Algester: a local snapshot

In the early 1970s this was untouched bushland. Leighton Properties had planned a Ridgewood Heights estate in 1968, the first house went up in the early 1970s and building took off mid-decade. The name traces back to Alcester Road, named in the 1920s by subdivider F. S. Brecknell after a place near Birmingham, then misspelt over time. It became official in 1972.

Sitting on the southern edge of the City of Brisbane, Algester shares a boundary with several Logan suburbs and was once part of the old Brisbane Agricultural Reserve. Two primary schools, Algester State and St Stephen's, serve local families, and secondary students head to Calamvale Community College. The Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit and an Islamic Society centre are community focal points.

How much does solar cost in Algester?

Most Algester homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Algester?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Algester?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Algester 4115 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Algester is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Pallara, Sunnybank Hills, Calamvale, Parkinson. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
