Solar panels for Parkinson, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Parkinson homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Parkinson makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Parkinson is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. From Parkinson to nearby Calamvale and Drewvale, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Parkinson

Bushland covered this area for many years. Named on 12 June 1972 after railway engineer Henry Parkinson, it saw housing begin in the mid-1990s, with the north mostly low-density homes by 2003 and the last residential stages done in 2008. An industrial estate opened in the south-east corner in 2009. A severe hailstorm in October 2011 collapsed roofs and caused flash flooding.

As Brisbane City's southernmost suburb, Parkinson is hemmed in by the Mount Lindesay Highway on the east and the Sydney to Brisbane rail corridor on the west, with the Logan Motorway slicing through. Houses and some parkland fill the northern half, while the south is still uncleared bush. Two private schools operate here, and the CBD is about 23 km away by road.

How much does solar cost in Parkinson?

Most Parkinson homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Parkinson?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Parkinson?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Parkinson 4115 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Parkinson is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Calamvale, Drewvale, Pallara, Algester. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
