Going solar in Algester
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Algester is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Algester: history and local area
In the early 1970s this was untouched bushland. Leighton Properties had planned a Ridgewood Heights estate in 1968, the first house went up in the early 1970s and building took off mid-decade. The name traces back to Alcester Road, named in the 1920s by subdivider F. S. Brecknell after a place near Birmingham, then misspelt over time. It became official in 1972.
Sitting on the southern edge of the City of Brisbane, Algester shares a boundary with several Logan suburbs and was once part of the old Brisbane Agricultural Reserve. Two primary schools, Algester State and St Stephen's, serve local families, and secondary students head to Calamvale Community College. The Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit and an Islamic Society centre are community focal points.
Homes from the mid-1970s building wave can have older roofs and switchboards, so it is worth checking both, while newer infill houses are generally ready for panels and a battery from day one.
