Why Bowen Hills homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Bowen Hills quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Bowen Hills makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Bowen Hills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Inner Brisbane is full of character: Queenslanders, workers cottages and townhouses on small lots in places like Paddington, West End, New Farm and Bulimba, where neat installs and careful panel layout matter. Our solar panels work in Bowen Hills also covers neighbouring Newstead, Windsor and Albion, all within about 1km.

Bowen Hills: a local snapshot

Named after Queensland Governor Sir George Ferguson Bowen, the area was a postal district by 1866. The Acclimatisation Society had already taken over Bowen Park in 1862. Settlement picked up in the 1870s, with a post office in 1878 and the railway in 1882. Queensland Newspapers built its headquarters here in the 1960s, and the 2010s brought a wave of new apartments and shops.

Crowds pour into the Exhibition Grounds every year for the Ekka. Bowen Hills station is one of the busiest in Queensland, and there is also a large rail depot. Perry Park Stadium hosts mostly soccer, while the Old Museum Building on Gregory Terrace and Bowen Park add history. Montpelier hill rises to 49 m. The suburb is a mix of apartment complexes, retail and transport land.

How much does solar cost in Bowen Hills?

Most Bowen Hills homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Bowen Hills?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Bowen Hills?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Bowen Hills 4006 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Bowen Hills is part of our Inner Brisbane service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Newstead, Windsor, Albion, Fortitude Valley. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
