Solar Panels Windsor: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Windsor system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Windsor makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Windsor is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's northside ranges from the grand old homes of Ascot, Hamilton and Clayfield to family suburbs like Aspley, Chermside and Bracken Ridge and the bayside villages of Sandgate and Shorncliffe. We look after Windsor and the surrounding suburbs of Albion, Lutwyche and Wilston, so a free on-site measure in 4030 is easy to book.
- Many Windsor homes are character Queenslanders and older workers cottages with corrugated iron roofs. Tin roofs are quick to mount on, and we keep conduit runs neat and out of sight on heritage-style facades.

About Windsor
Land went on sale in 1854, but little happened until Bowen Bridge opened in 1860 and people began calling the district Upper Breakfast Creek. A national school opened on Bowen Bridge Road in 1865. The Shire of Windsor formed in 1887, Queen Victoria's golden jubilee year, borrowing its name from Windsor Castle. It became a town in 1904 and was folded into Greater Brisbane in 1925.
Just north of the city, Windsor is mostly houses, with plenty of older Queenslanders and heritage places like the old shire council chambers. Shops line Lutwyche and Newmarket roads. Windsor station sits on Eildon Road, Downey Park hosts the Brisbane Softball Association, and Northey Street City Farm has been growing food since 1994. Streets near Breakfast Creek went under in the 1974 floods.

Solar panels in Windsor: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Windsor?
Most Windsor homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Windsor?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Windsor?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Windsor 4030 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Windsor is part of our Brisbane Northside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Albion, Lutwyche, Wilston, Bowen Hills. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
