Solar panels in Currumbin, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Currumbin homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Currumbin quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Currumbin makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Currumbin is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage. Our solar panels work in Currumbin also covers neighbouring Tugun, Palm Beach and Currumbin Waters, all within about 3km.
- Being close to the water, Currumbin gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Currumbin: a local snapshot
Samuel William Grey was the first European to take up land here, and clearing started in the late 1800s. Subdivisions were advertised from 1904, the first hotel went up in 1910 and the Thrower Drive Bridge opened in 1926. Many houses still date from the 1920s subdivisions. The name comes from the Yugambeh word Garambin, meaning quicksand or a type of pine, and this is Tulgigin clan land.
Currumbin runs from Currumbin Creek south to Wyberba Street, between the motorway and the sea. Elephant Rock, Currumbin Alley and the beach draw surfers and swimmers, and the heritage-listed Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary is a major attraction. Steep hillsides have kept much of the natural vegetation, with Currumbin Hill Conservation Park nearby. Housing ranges from 1920s homes and fibro beach houses to hillside high-rise.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Currumbin?
Most Currumbin homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Currumbin?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Currumbin?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.
Do you service Currumbin 4223 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Currumbin is part of our Southern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Tugun, Palm Beach, Currumbin Waters, Elanora. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
