Solar Panels Fingal Head: local, honest, done right

Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Fingal Head system around your roof, your shading and your bills.

A typical 6.6kW system in Fingal Head makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Fingal Head is on Essential Energy's network, so your system is designed to Essential Energy's connection rules (typically a 5kW export limit) and NSW feed-in tariffs. We handle the network application for you.

The Tweed runs from the border at Tweed Heads down the coast to Pottsville and inland along the river to Murwillumbah and Uki, a mix of beach houses, river-flat towns and hinterland acreage. We look after Fingal Head and the surrounding suburbs of Tweed Heads South, Banora Point and Chinderah, so a free on-site measure in 2487 is easy to book.

  • Being close to the water, Fingal Head gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

About Fingal Head

James Cook sighted this headland on 16 May 1770, though there is long-running debate over whether his Point Danger was actually this spot. Robert Dixon mapped the coast in 1840, and the name Fingal shows up on his 1842 map, probably a nod to Fingal's Cave in Scotland with its similar basalt columns. A light station followed in 1872, then a permanent lighthouse in 1878.

The village sits on the Tasman Sea about 5 km south of the Queensland border, with the Tweed River running close behind the coast and Letitia Spit stretching about 2 km down to the headland. Walking tracks lead out to the basalt columns and the lighthouse, and Cook Island, a marine reserve since 1998, lies around 500 metres offshore.

How much does solar cost in Fingal Head?

Most Fingal Head homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Fingal Head?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Essential Energy export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Fingal Head?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them. Near the coast we use stainless fixings and corrosion-resistant racking.

Do you service Fingal Head 2487 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Fingal Head is part of our Tweed Heads & Tweed Coast service area in the Tweed Shire Council area, and we regularly work in Tweed Heads South, Banora Point, Chinderah, Rainbow Bay. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
