Solar panels for Kuraby, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Kuraby homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Kuraby makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Kuraby is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. From Kuraby to nearby Underwood and Runcorn, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Kuraby

Clearing for farms began in 1860 under the Holloson and Baker families. Kuraby station opened on the South Coast line in 1885, and that is when the name came into use; it refers to a nearby creek. Spring Creek Township went on sale in 1887, the state school opened in 1928, and the suburb was formally gazetted in August 1975.

Beenleigh Road is the main spine, with bushland wrapping around the state school. Housing estates now cover what used to be farmland. The local mosque occupies the former St John's Anglican Church, bought by the Islamic community in the early 1990s. A community centre, Kuraby Special School and the train station serve residents, with buses heading to Upper Mount Gravatt and Springwood.

How much does solar cost in Kuraby?

Most Kuraby homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Kuraby?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Kuraby?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Kuraby 4112 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Kuraby is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Underwood, Runcorn, Woodridge, Stretton. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
