Solar panels for Underwood, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Underwood homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Underwood makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Underwood is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben. From Underwood to nearby Kuraby and Rochedale South, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Underwood

William Underwood was an early landholder who ran the Commercial Hotel near Beenleigh Road from the early 1870s until 1895, and the suburb carries his name. This is traditional Yugarabul country. Underwood was gazetted in August 1975 and sat partly in Brisbane and the old Shire of Albert until Logan City formed in 1978. A further slice moved from Brisbane to Logan in 1993.

Underwood is bounded by the Logan Motorway and Compton Road, and it is well connected, with M1 access, the Springwood busway station and Kuraby and Trinder Park train stations next door. The Logan North Library opened in 2008 on the corner of Sports Drive and Springwood Road and offers free WiFi. There are no schools inside the suburb, so students go to neighbouring areas.

How much does solar cost in Underwood?

Most Underwood homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Underwood?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Underwood?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Underwood 4119 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Underwood is part of our Logan service area in the Logan City Council area, and we regularly work in Kuraby, Rochedale South, Springwood, Woodridge. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
