Going solar in Miami
The southern Gold Coast stretches from Coolangatta and the beaches of Palm Beach and Burleigh back to Robina, Mudgeeraba and the valleys of Currumbin and Tallebudgera, with everything from beachfront units to acreage.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Miami is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
- Being close to the water, Miami gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Miami: history and local area
Development kicked off in the early 1920s with the Miami Shore estate at North Burleigh, named after Miami Shores in Florida. The Hotel Miami opened in 1925, and early housing was mainly wooden or fibro bungalows, some rented out to holidaymakers. Tennis courts arrived in 1953, and the 60-hectare Pizzey Park was set aside in 1969.
Miami has three beaches, Nobby, Miami and North Burleigh, with North Nobby rising 46 metres above them. Pizzey Park is the sporting hub and home to Bond Pirates rugby union, while the Burleigh Bears and an 18-hole golf club are also here. Shops and light industry line the Gold Coast Highway and Christine Avenue, and Miami State High School had over 1,250 students in 2018.
Where older fibro or timber bungalows remain, roof and switchboard checks come first, and beachside streets call for salt-resistant panels and fixings.
