Why Nerang homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Nerang quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Nerang makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Nerang is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara. Our solar panels work in Nerang also covers neighbouring Highland Park, Gilston and Molendinar, all within about 4km.

Nerang: a local snapshot

Martin Lavelle surveyed the township in June 1865, land went on sale in 1871 and Cobb and Co coaches began running from Brisbane the same year. Red cedar cutting was the first big earner, followed by dairying and maize. The old South Coast railway arrived in 1887 and closed in 1964, the motorway bypassed the town centre in 1979, and trains returned on the Gold Coast line in 1997.

Named for the river that winds through it, Nerang has a small town centre with banks and shops, several shopping centres and light industrial parks full of trades and workshops. City of Gold Coast administration offices are here too. Sport is a big part of local life, with a velodrome, a council pool complex, Robert Dalley Park for the Bulls rugby union club and the Nerang Roosters in league.

How much does solar cost in Nerang?

Most Nerang homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Nerang?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Nerang?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Nerang 4211 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Nerang is part of our Central Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Highland Park, Gilston, Molendinar, Carrara. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
