Going solar in Molendinar
The central Gold Coast takes in the high-rise strip from Broadbeach to Main Beach, the canal homes of Bundall, Benowa and Isle of Capri, and family suburbs like Ashmore, Nerang and Carrara.
Over half of Gold Coast houses already have rooftop solar, so a lot of our work here is batteries, upgrades and fixing tired systems, alongside new installs in growth areas like Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau.
Molendinar is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Molendinar: history and local area
A Scottish stream gave this place its name. George Hope called his farm after the Molendinar Burn in Glasgow, the railway station that opened here in 1889 took the farm name, and the suburb later took the station's. The Aboriginal name for the area is Jerringan, meaning stringybark tree. The line closed in 1964, and from 1969 the state government built the Molendinar Industrial Estate with council support.
Molendinar is a working suburb with industry and housing side by side, boxed in by the Smith Street Motorway, Olsen Avenue, Southport Nerang Road and the Pacific Motorway. A 110 metre heritage-listed tunnel on Ashmore Road is a reminder of the old South Coast line. Trinity Lutheran College has its Prep to Year 5 campus here, and the Lynne Richardson Community Centre is on Gidgee Court.
Industrial sheds in Molendinar have large, unshaded roofs and daytime power use, which is a good match for commercial solar, while nearby homes can follow the same logic on a smaller scale with a battery for evenings.
