Solar panels in Mount Ommaney, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Mount Ommaney homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Mount Ommaney quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Mount Ommaney makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Mount Ommaney is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. Our solar panels work in Mount Ommaney also covers neighbouring Jindalee, Middle Park and Jamboree Heights, all within about 1km.

Mount Ommaney: a local snapshot
The hill, and later the suburb, remember John Mansell Ommaney, who died aged 20 after a riding accident in 1856. The land was part of the Wolston Estate offered for sale in 1901 as 54 farms across about 3,000 acres. Hooker's Centenary Project turned it into suburbia from 1959. A special school opened in 1992 and the library in 1997.
The suburb's namesake rises to 82 metres, and many hilltop houses look out over the city, the river or open country. Lots here are often bigger than 1,000 square metres. About 2,500 people live on 2.3 square kilometres, 15.8 km by road from the CBD. Mount Ommaney Shopping Centre has its own bus station, and a large protected forest runs along the riverbank.

Solar panels in Mount Ommaney: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Mount Ommaney?
Most Mount Ommaney homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Mount Ommaney?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Mount Ommaney?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Mount Ommaney 4074 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Mount Ommaney is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Jindalee, Middle Park, Jamboree Heights, Westlake. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
