Solar panels in Sumner, installed properly
Tier 1 panels, proven inverters and a clean install from a team that answers the phone after the job is done.
Solar panels for Sumner, planned around your home
Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Sumner homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Sumner makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Sumner is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's west takes in leafy riverside suburbs like Indooroopilly, Kenmore and Chapel Hill, the Centenary suburbs, and hillier, tree-lined streets around The Gap, Ashgrove and Ferny Grove where shading needs careful planning. From Sumner to nearby Jamboree Heights and Middle Park, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Sumner
Sumner Road, along the northern boundary, gave the suburb its name, and the road itself is linked to a lawyer who spent weekends at his property at its end. The land was once Wolston Estate farmland, auctioned in 1901, and became part of the Centenary Project in 1959. The name was made official in 1969, and the memorial gardens opened in 2001.
Two halves make up Sumner: homes in the west and the Sumner Park industrial estate in the east. Only about 600 people lived here in 2021. The 16 hectare Centenary Memorial Gardens crematorium and cemetery is on Wacol Station Road, and Spine Street Park is one of three local parks. Some areas flooded in 2011.

Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Sumner?
Most Sumner homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Sumner?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Sumner?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Sumner 4074 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Sumner is part of our Brisbane Westside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Jamboree Heights, Middle Park, Darra, Mount Ommaney. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
