Solar Panels Ormeau Hills: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Ormeau Hills system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Ormeau Hills makes about 28.4kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 43kWh. Ormeau Hills is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan. We look after Ormeau Hills and the surrounding suburbs of Kingsholme, Ormeau and Willow Vale, so a free on-site measure in 4208 is easy to book.
- Newer homes in Ormeau Hills usually have clean, unshaded roofs and modern switchboards, which keeps installs quick. Estate covenants rarely restrict solar, but we check before we quote.

About Ormeau Hills
Ormeau Hills borrows its name from neighbouring Ormeau, itself named after Major Alexander Jenyns Boyd's 1860s estate. Growth here has been fast and recent. The census counted just 1,212 people in 2011, then 3,148 in 2016 and 4,521 by 2021, as new streets spread across the lower eastern side of the locality.
The land climbs from east to west. Suburban housing covers the flatter eastern side, 10 to 30 metres above sea level, while the centre rises to around 130 metres with rural residential blocks. The west is mountainous and undeveloped, topped by Davis Hill at 298 metres with a radio mast on its summit. There are no schools in the locality, so children travel to Pimpama and Ormeau.

Solar panels in Ormeau Hills: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Ormeau Hills?
Most Ormeau Hills homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Ormeau Hills?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Ormeau Hills?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Ormeau Hills 4208 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Ormeau Hills is part of our Northern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Kingsholme, Ormeau, Willow Vale, Yatala. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
