Going solar in Parkinson
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake.
Brisbane covers everything from Queenslanders with tin roofs and tight inner-city lots to big brick homes in the southern and western suburbs. Every roof is different, which is why we measure and design each one on site.
Parkinson is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Parkinson: history and local area
Bushland covered this area for many years. Named on 12 June 1972 after railway engineer Henry Parkinson, it saw housing begin in the mid-1990s, with the north mostly low-density homes by 2003 and the last residential stages done in 2008. An industrial estate opened in the south-east corner in 2009. A severe hailstorm in October 2011 collapsed roofs and caused flash flooding.
As Brisbane City's southernmost suburb, Parkinson is hemmed in by the Mount Lindesay Highway on the east and the Sydney to Brisbane rail corridor on the west, with the Logan Motorway slicing through. Houses and some parkland fill the northern half, while the south is still uncleared bush. Two private schools operate here, and the CBD is about 23 km away by road.
The 2011 hailstorm that collapsed roofs here is a reminder to choose panels with strong hail ratings and to check that home insurance covers rooftop solar and any battery.
