Solar Panels Sheldon: local, honest, done right
Solar is a 25-year decision, so the panels, inverter and installation quality matter far more than shaving a few hundred dollars off the quote. RS Energy is a family-run solar company and we design every Sheldon system around your roof, your shading and your bills.
A typical 6.6kW system in Sheldon makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Sheldon is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
The Redlands coast runs from Capalaba and Birkdale through Cleveland and Victoria Point to Redland Bay and the Southern Moreton Bay Islands, with plenty of larger blocks around Mount Cotton and Sheldon. We look after Sheldon and the surrounding suburbs of Mount Cotton, Burbank and Priestdale, so a free on-site measure in 4157 is easy to book.
- Plenty of Sheldon properties are on acreage, which opens up ground-mounted arrays, sheds and larger systems. Rural feeders also see more outages, so battery backup is popular here.

About Sheldon
For a long time this was quiet, mostly empty rural land. It was officially named in 1980, stitched together from pieces of Capalaba and Mount Cotton, and the name most likely comes from a village in Devon, England. Sheldon College, a private Prep to Year 12 school, opened in 1997 and has become the main landmark.
Under 2,000 people spread across nearly 23 square kilometres of eucalyptus forest and acreage. Tingalpa Creek starts here and runs down the western edge, feeding the Leslie Harrison Dam catchment. Brisbane Koala Bushlands, the Emu Street reserve and the Ford Road Conservation Area all sit within it, and Venman Bushland National Park lies just to the south. A quarry and a native bee hive maker also operate locally.

Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Sheldon?
Most Sheldon homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Sheldon?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Sheldon?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Sheldon 4157 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Sheldon is part of our Redlands service area in the Redland City Council area, and we regularly work in Mount Cotton, Burbank, Priestdale, Thornlands. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
