Solar panels for Springwood, planned around your home

Whether it is your first system or you are replacing an old one, we size solar for Springwood homes around real usage, not the biggest number we can fit on the roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Springwood makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Springwood is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Logan blends established suburbs such as Springwood, Shailer Park and Browns Plains with new communities at Yarrabilba, Park Ridge and Logan Reserve, plus acreage through Jimboomba, Greenbank and Munruben. From Springwood to nearby Rochedale South and Underwood, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

Getting to know Springwood

Springwood is traditional Yugarabul country, with Yugambeh and Jaggera people also living in the area. The name comes from a property owned by Sam Langford in 1932. The suburb was laid out in anticipation of the freeway to Brisbane, which was expected by 1972 but not finished until 1985. Springwood State High and Dennis Road State School opened in 1977, followed by Chatswood Hills in 1983 and Calvary Christian College in 1984.

Around nine per cent of Springwood is parkland, spread over 17 parks. The 36 hectare Springwood Conservation Park follows a gorge beside the reservoir on an old quarry site, and its steep stairs are nicknamed the stairs of death. Car showrooms line the main roads near the Logan Mega Centre, and the busway station links to Brisbane. A master plan proposes apartments, offices and town squares near the station.

How much does solar cost in Springwood?

Most Springwood homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Springwood?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Springwood?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Springwood 4127 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Springwood is part of our Logan service area in the Logan City Council area, and we regularly work in Rochedale South, Underwood, Priestdale, Daisy Hill. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
