Why Wakerley homes choose RS Energy for solar panels

Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Wakerley quote starts with a free measure of your roof.

A typical 6.6kW system in Wakerley makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Wakerley is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.

Brisbane's bayside east, from Wynnum and Manly through Tingalpa and Wakerley, mixes breezy bayfront homes with quieter family streets, and salt air near the water is a real design consideration. Our solar panels work in Wakerley also covers neighbouring Gumdale, Ransome and Manly West, all within about 2km.

Wakerley: a local snapshot

Early settler John William Wakerley is remembered in the suburb's name. Records of its first years are thin, though a 1927 photograph shows a local family living in a house built from kerosene tins, a reminder of how basic life could be on the city fringe. Education arrived much later, with The Agnew School moving here from Norman Park in 2008.

South of the Brisbane River and close to the southern bayside suburbs, Wakerley covers 4.9 square kilometres and had roughly 8,700 residents in 2021. The private OneSchool Global campus on Ingleston Road is the main school within its borders. Kids head to Gumdale or Manly West for government primary schools, and to Wynnum or Brisbane Bayside State College for high school.

How much does solar cost in Wakerley?

Most Wakerley homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.

What size solar system do I need in Wakerley?

Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.

Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?

Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.

How long does installation take?

Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.

Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Wakerley?

Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.

Do you service Wakerley 4154 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Wakerley is part of our Brisbane Bayside East service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Gumdale, Ransome, Manly West, Lota. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
