Solar panels in Gumdale, installed properly
A family solar company that measures your roof, explains the numbers and installs it right the first time.
Why Gumdale homes choose RS Energy for solar panels
Plenty of companies sell solar on price alone. We sell it on quality, because a system that is designed and installed well keeps paying you back for decades. Every Gumdale quote starts with a free measure of your roof.
A typical 6.6kW system in Gumdale makes about 27.7kWh a day on average across the year, while a 10kW system makes about 42kWh. Gumdale is on the Energex network. Most homes can export up to 5kW per phase on a standard connection, and newer dynamic connections allow more. We size your inverter to get the most from those limits and lodge the Energex application for you.
Brisbane's southside covers older post-war suburbs like Annerley, Moorooka and Holland Park, the busy family areas around Sunnybank, Mansfield and Carindale, and newer pockets at Pallara and Forest Lake. Our solar panels work in Gumdale also covers neighbouring Wakerley, Chandler and Ransome, all within about 3km.

Gumdale: a local snapshot
First called Grassdale after the grass trees growing in the area, the district was opened up when the Grassdale Land Company auctioned 42 lots in 1885. A state school followed in 1935 and a public hall in 1937. Plans for a post office in 1942 forced a name change to Gumdale, to avoid confusion with Grassdale in South Australia.
Roughly 95 per cent of Gumdale is acreage, with lots commonly 5,000 to 10,000 square metres, and only a small slice set aside for new development. It is an outer suburb about 17.7 km east south east of the CBD. Gumdale State School offers Prep to Year 6 with a special education program, and Eastside Village shopping centre now stands where St Francis' Anglican Church used to be.

Solar panels in Gumdale: questions
Still unsure? Talk to us directly. You will speak with the people who do the work.
Call 0449 942 735How much does solar cost in Gumdale?
Most Gumdale homes pay between $4,800 and $7,000 for a quality 6.6kW system and $7,400 to $11,000 for 10kW, after the federal rebate. We give you a fixed price after a free on-site measure, so there are no surprises on install day.
What size solar system do I need in Gumdale?
Look at your bill. Most families using 20 to 30kWh a day suit 6.6kW to 10kW. If you run pool pumps, ducted air or an EV, or plan to add a battery, 10kW to 13kW usually makes more sense. Energex export limits also shape the right inverter size.
Is solar still worth it with low feed-in tariffs?
Yes, if the system is sized for self-use. Every kWh you use from your panels saves you the full retail rate, which is far more than the few cents you get for exporting. Running dishwashers, pool pumps and hot water in the middle of the day makes a big difference, and a battery stretches it into the evening.
How long does installation take?
Most homes are done in a single day. We book the install once your network approval comes back, then arrange the meter change with your retailer.
Do you install solar on tile, tin and Klip-Lok roofs in Gumdale?
Yes. We install on concrete and terracotta tiles, corrugated iron, Colorbond and Klip-Lok, with tilt frames where a flat roof needs them.
Do you service Gumdale 4154 and nearby suburbs?
Yes. Gumdale is part of our Brisbane Southside service area in the Brisbane City Council area, and we regularly work in Wakerley, Chandler, Ransome, Belmont. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
