Repairs & upgrades for Runaway Bay, planned around your home

Inverters are the hardest working part of a solar system and most last 10 to 15 years. When one fails, your panels keep sitting in the sun but you get nothing from them. Many Runaway Bay homes also have systems that were installed by companies no longer around.

We test the array, inverter, isolators and wiring, then give you a clear written report. If replacement makes more sense, we will quote a like-for-like inverter or a hybrid inverter that is ready for a battery.

The northern Gold Coast is one of the fastest growing parts of Queensland, from the canals of Runaway Bay and Hope Island to new estates in Coomera, Pimpama and Ormeau and semi-rural blocks around Wongawallan. From Runaway Bay to nearby Biggera Waters and Coombabah, we quote every job in person so the price you sign is the price you pay.

  • Being close to the water, Runaway Bay gets salt-laden sea breezes. We use corrosion-resistant racking, stainless fixings and panels and inverters rated for coastal sites, and we design to the local wind loading.

Getting to know Runaway Bay

In 1939 Robert George Oates's Anglers Paradise Development Company bought 350 acres along Biggera Creek and the Broadwater, and by the mid 1950s around 50 homes had town water. Lae Enterprises added 182 hectares to the north in 1967, and building on the boating subdivision began in 1972. The Runaway Bay name was first knocked back as a suburb name but stuck after the post office adopted it.

How do I know if my solar system is faulty?

Common signs are an inverter showing a red light or error code, a blank screen during the day, a power bill that jumps without a change in usage, or monitoring that shows zero output on a sunny day.

Do you fix systems you did not install?

Yes. A lot of our repair work in Runaway Bay is on systems from companies that have since closed. We work on all mainstream brands.

Should I repair or replace my inverter?

If the inverter is under warranty, we will help you claim it. If it is over 10 years old and out of warranty, replacing it is usually better value than repairing, and it is a good moment to consider a battery-ready hybrid.

How often should solar panels be checked?

Every two to three years is a good rule, or sooner near the coast where salt air is harder on fixings and isolators.

Do you service Runaway Bay 4216 and nearby suburbs?

Yes. Runaway Bay is part of our Northern Gold Coast service area in the City of Gold Coast area, and we regularly work in Biggera Waters, Coombabah, Hollywell, Paradise Point. Call 0449 942 735 or request a quote online and we will reply within 24 hours.
